Introduction
Kells Swimming Club is dedicated to fostering the sport of competitive swimming and other aquatic activities in the Kells area.
The Club is a competitive swimming Club, affiliated to Swim Ireland, the National Governing Body for Swimming (www.swimireland.ie) and, through them, to FINA, the Federation of International Swimming Associations and abides by all their rules.
We have teaching classes from the Little Pool upwards and a training programme for those swimmers who wish to compete and who have a reasonable proficiency in most of the four competitive strokes.
The Club is totally voluntary. Our teachers, coaches and helpers give their time freely. We are always looking for extra help. If you think that you may be able to help in any way please make yourself known to Club Staff.
The Club is based in the Kells Swimming Pool, which is run by Meath County Council.
We have, over the years, developed excellent relationships with the staff at the Pool and are grateful for their help and goodwill.
After Club sessions please do not prevent easy access to the Pool by other Pool users by blocking the entrance doors.
The Club promotes the teaching and coaching of Competitive Swimming and Water Polo at all levels in accordance with current best practice. Our focus is to give the swimmers the skills necessary to perform to the highest level in their chosen sport. The teachers and coaches are qualified to Swim Ireland standards.
The Club uses a number of methods to communicate with members.
- By post
- By phone
- By text (if we have your mobile number)
- By e-mail (if we know your active email address)
- The Club has a Notice board in the foyer of the Kells Pool
- The Club has a website – www.kellssc.ie
The Club is proud of the donations that it has made, on behalf of its members, to local and national charities over the years. A Charity Swim is held each year to help us raise funds for these donations.
If you have any queries please ask any member of the Club Staff.
Please do not interrupt the teaching of a class. Parents are welcome to talk to the Teacher/Coach but please do so after the class.
