galas & away trips
General information
Details of all Club activities, home and away galas and social events will be posted on the notice board.
gala entries
Competitive Squad members are charge a fixed “Gala Entries” fee per term. In order to maintain their place in the Squad all Competitive Squad members are required to enter at least one “designated” gala per term. They may also enter galas other than the designated gala.
They may enter whichever events they and their coach consider to be most suitable. The Club will pay the entry fees. Development Squad members are encouraged to enter Galas appropriate to their swimming skills. They will be required to pay the entry fees.
At away Galas the Club will nominate a Coach/Team Manager to assist the swimmers with the swimming aspects of the Gala. Only the Coach/Team Manager will liaise with the Gala Organisers in the event of any problems
away trips
If Club members are taking part in any overnight Club activity Parents/Guardians will be asked to sign a “Parental Consent Form” agreeing to allow their child to attend the activity. This form requires them to specify “An Adult-in-Charge” who will supervise the child at all times during the event including, where appropriate, during transportation and any overnight accommodation.
Swimmers are expected to adhere to the Code of Conduct for Young People at all times.
