A note from Hannah :

Hi everybody, Its me Hannah if you haven’t already forgotten me.

I hope that you are all well. This includes: Katie Halton, Annie and Alannah’O’Riley, the girl from leaving cert( sorry but i forget you name.... is it niamh?), grace, lane buddy kellyanne, eimear’O’Neill,  conor clarke, Sean with his trophy, all the black hats including Ciara, and many more.
Who where the coaches again............... only joking. always thinking of Kieran when ever I'm doing a tumble turn(I can manage 3 strokes after every turn), always thing of Geff when I’m doing Streamline(which i now do EVERY time I am underwater thanks too you.) Susanne for teaching me loads of technics(which got me into my new club), Marian for all the hassle you went though just to get me to galas which got me all my PB’S and gave me a wonderful experience), Sue for always keeping me smiling even  if i completely failed that 100m fly. I miss you all very very much.
I now train Sundays(half three to half five) Tuesdays(half six to half seven)Thursdays (Six am to eight am) and Fridays (Six am To Eight). I am competing in a S.A.S gala in seven weeks and the club force us to do every swim. (200M each). Back in Ireland that probably seems a lot but you’d be amazed at how fast these sessions get you fit. already i can swim up to 100 lengths and more in just a warm up and no I'm not lying. you may even ask the head coach Steve.
While being at the club ( Banchory beavers) it has taken me five whole weeks to get in and many are amazed because it took the best swimmer in Silver ( they use Bonze,Silver, Gold and platinum s there squads. I was straight away put into Silver) only got in after a year waiting. “B”( the 2nd coach) even said that i would be moving up to Gold after The S.A.S gala. This is an extremely rare case she said, “but Hannah needs to move up and cannot be kept back”. I’m so happy here and I just wanted to thank everybody that I have mention in this E-mail.

Best wishes,
Hannah Ward.

Ian Daly Swim a Mile 2013

Well done to all those that swam in  the Ian Daly 10th Aniversary 'Swim a Mile' swim today.

Ian, a swimmer with Viking swimming Club in Dublin, suffered a brain tumor at the age of 9. After extensive treatment in Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin Ian died on July 24th 2003.

Ian’s father, Brian is originally from Kells and his aunt, Maura Daly swam with Kells S.C. many years ago.

All money collected by the Ian Daly Swim goes to Barretstown and the cancer ward in Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children

Congratulations

To Laoise Fleming on being selected to represent Leinster at the Inter provincial championships on May 6th.

( Laoise is in good company, Megan O’Kelly represented Leinster at the Inter Pro in 2010 and Jackie Shields also represented Leinster many years ago).

To Paul Cahill, Laoise Fleming, Mollie Gillic, Trudie Gillic and Orlagh Lally for representing Kells in the recent Leinster Open Long Course Championships
